Conestoga High School, the oldest scholastic rugby team in the USA (established in 1971), is bringing its boys U19 rugby side to Rhiwbina.
The team will be on an Easter break (March 27-April 5) tour of Wales, bringing 27 student athletes and four coaches on a 10 day, three-match tour.
The first two matches will be against Rhiwbina RFC and neighbouring Llanishen RFC, with the team spending their time with host families from both clubs during their stay in Cardiff.
The visitors will take part in sight-seeing, training with the Ospreys, and touring the Millennium Stadium, as well as visits to Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff Bay. Conestoga’s final match will be against Bridgend College.
This is Conestoga’s second tour of Wales in the last two years. Previously they played in 2013 in England and Wales. A spokesperson said: “This is sure to be another great rugby and cultural experience for both rugby players and coaches.”
