Congratulations to Rhiwbina RFC Youth XV, who kick off the second half of their season next weekend (20 January) - with a major trophy already secured.
As winners of Group B, the Squirrels faced Group A winners Barry Youth in the Cardiff Rugby South Cup Final on 29 December at Llanishen RFC.
Tries from Dan Pesticcio, Iestyn Hutchings and Morgan Appleyard looked
to have sealed victory. However, a yellow card and a Barry try made for a nail-biting
finish before Fraser Brittan seized upon a Barry mistake to seal the win, 25-14.
In the second half of the season, Rhiwbina will be competing in the Cardiff Region National Premiership, starting with a home game against Cambrian Welfare at Caedelyn Park on Saturday 20 January.
Other teams in the top division are Merthyr, Barry, Builth Wells, Fairwater, St Peter’s, and Treorchy.
Thanks to Rhiwbina RFC for the info.
