The Rhiwbina Flood Defence Scheme has been shortlisted for a prestigious civil engineering award.
The Cardiff Council project is among the finalists for the Roy Edwards Award at the annual ICE (Instititution of Civil Engineering) Wales Cymru Awards.
The awards celebrate outstanding engineering achievement across the country. Civil engineering is about creating, improving and protecting the world in which we live.
The 2016 awards ceremony will be held at the Marriott Hotel, Cardiff on Friday 17th June. The celebration will be hosted by ICE President Sir John Armitt, ICE Wales Cymru Chairman David Rowlands and chairman of the judges’ panel, Christopher Craufurd.
Award winners will be announced to an audience of more than 250 industry leaders in Wales.
The principal designer and engineer on the Rhiwbina project was Mott MacDonald; the principal contractor was Raymond Brown Construction Ltd, and Edenvale Young Associates was the other key organisation involved in the project.
