A made-in-Rhiwbina short film is to be screened at next month’s Monico Movies.
Annalium 8: Sssss, written by Rhiwbina-born-and-raised Rob Lancey and produced by him and our own Andy Weltch of Weltch Media, was also filmed locally.
In a world where all all animal life has been wiped out, a scientist in full bio-hazard kit and with a life-support machine in tow, discovers a young girl, apparently fit and well…
It will be shown on 14 October as a curtain-raiser for another film with a local connection, The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (1995), starring Hugh Grant and Tara Fitzgerald.
Directed by Taffs Well-born Chris Monger, it is reputedly based on The Garth. You can buy tickets from the local outlets listed here.
Annalium 8: Sssss had its first screening this week as part of the Chapter MovieMaker programme and was highly praised by other film-makers in the audience.
The producers have now started entering it into festivals and competitions, starting with the London Seasonal Film Fest.
