Rhiwbina councillor will be Cardiff's next Lord Mayor

Rhiwbina councillor Adrian Robson is to be the next Lord Mayor of Cardiff.


He was appointed Lord Mayor Elect at last night's (Thursday 27 March) council meeting with unanimous cross-party support and will take up the office at the end of May for a year.

One of three Conservative councillors representing Rhiwbina ward on Cardiff Council, Adrian was first elected in 2004 and is one of the longest serving members with continuous service.


After last night's meeting, he told us: "It is an honour to have been appointed as the Lord Mayor Elect for Cardiff at tonight’s full Council meeting, having been proposed by leaders of different political parties.


"I was delighted to receive unanimous support and am looking forward to taking office at the end of May when I will be announcing the charity for the year.
