Celebrating its 50th year of entertainment, Wales’ number-one amateur company Orbit Theatre brought Magic of the Musicals at Christmas to the New Theatre in Cardiff last night (Thursday November 21).
Featuring classic musicals such as Oliver, Les Misérables, High School Musical, and many more, with an added Christmas twist to get the audience into the festive spirit, the talented cast add a different spin to the traditional theatre experience. There is a musical suited to people of all ages, and all tastes on this action-packed tour.
The whole cast bring lots of energy and enthusiasm into each song, ensuring the next one is just as good as the previous.
With the help of a highly skilled and professional orchestra, the cast manage to capture the essence of each individual musical, bringing the fun and joy out of them. Everyone involved manages to remain professional even when the odd thing goes amiss, and keep the talent and magic that musicals bring alive.
The Orbit Theatre started entertaining Cardiff audiences in 1969. With award winning standard productions, the group has been known to be brilliant for helping to train up-and-coming actors and entertainers.
Their aim is to bring unique theatre into Cardiff for the people in and around to enjoy as a way of showing their gratitude for years of support. With Magic of the Musicals at Christmas, they certainly achieve that.
Magic of the Musicals at Christmas plays at the New Theatre tonight (Friday November 22) at 7.30pm and tomorrow (Saturday November 23) at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. To book tickets, phone the box office on 02920 87 88 89, or book via www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk
