Pantomime season is back, and the New Theatre is leading the way with Cinderella – the perfect way to start the festive celebrations.
Cinderella is a classic fairy tale story – as well as a classic pantomime. This year, the New Theatre is welcoming Gok Wan as the Fairy Gok Mother who makes all of Cinderella’s dreams come true.
Also, Mike Doyle and Ceri Dupree take on the iconic roles of the Ugly Stepsisters. Completing the cast is an amazing line up of all Welsh stars. Teleri Hughes plays the beautiful Cinderella, Rob Wilshaw is Prince Charming, Dale Evans is his right-hand man Dandini and the hilarious Phil Butler is the comedic and loveable character Buttons.

This panto is full of fun, magic and laughs for all the family. The cast play their roles brilliantly, embracing and showing the fun they are having.
There are spectacular costumes, superb sets, and some surprising effects: snow is forecast – even on the audience, and some four-legged members of the cast make an appearance too.
There is never a dull moment in this dazzling show, and if something goes amiss, instead of panicking the cast simply go with it and turn it into an even bigger joke, which then receives an even bigger laugh from the audience.
In true panto tradition, the show gets the audience involved, either with a joke or the pantomime classic of shouting “Oh, yes you are” at the sisters!
Watching how much fun the cast are having is almost as amazing as the actual show – it shows how much they care for the panto and that they want to give the audience a fun-filled performance.
Offering everything and more of a pantomime, whether you’re a theatre fanatic or have never been before, you will not be disappointed.
There are also several supported performances throughout the duration of this show including BSL interpretation, captioning, audio description and a ‘fully relaxed’ performance.
