Rhiwbina Rugby Football Club could access new funding opportunities by taking responsibilty for facilities in Caedelyn Park.
The club is set to become the latest community sports club in Cardiff to take on responsibility for managing and maintaining facilities and pitches in the park where they play.
The new arrangements, which are proposed for a 40-year term, cover the changing rooms, toilets, and a bungalow, as well as allowing the club preferential use of the adjoining sports pitches.
Cardiff Council says the arrangement will enable the club to access new funding streams which are unavailable to local authorities, and help secure investment to improve the existing facilities.
As a consequence of the plans, legal notices have been published advertising the ‘disposal' of 1,953 sq m of buildings and immediately adjoining land at Caedelyn Park.
‘Disposal' is a legal term which, in this case, refers to the granting of a lease. All facilities will remain in the ownership of Cardiff Council.
Maybe they can put a 3G pitch where the floodlights are now instead of turning it into a mud bath. Then it could benefit the whole community. 👍
