Two local heroes have been praised after finding and returning a till stolen from a Rhiwbina business.
Brother and sister Armin, aged 13, and Layla, 12, heard about the break-in at Snails Deli a few weeks ago and decided to launch their own investigation.
During last week's half-term break, they were searching each day, and on Thursday (31 October) they spotted the till on the railway track at Rhiwbina station.
The station was closed, but they asked a railway worker to retrieve the till for them.
"We put the till back together in the park, and carried it in my jumper... to make sure there were no fingerprints on it," Layla told the BBC.
The thieves had left £2 in the till, which Snails owner Fran Sykes shared between the two heroes, and rewarded them with warm chocolate brownies and ice cream.
Well done, Armin and Layla! What a great example.
