Lloyds Bank has announced the closure of its Whitchurch branch in May - meaning there will be no bank branches at all in Whitchurch or Rhiwbina.
The Whitchurch branch in Penlline Road is one of 136 Lloyds Banking Group branches scheduled for closure between May this year and March 2026.

Lloyds Bank said: "Most customers are now using our mobile banking app, internet banking or calling us instead, which means they are using branches much less".
In guidance to customers, the bank says they can use ATMs for many services, or the post office in Whitchurch. Alternatively, there is still a Lloyds branch in Victoria Park on Cowbridge Road East.
In a statement shared on social media, Cardiff North MS Julie Morgan, MP Anna McMorrin, and councillors in Whitchurch and Tongwynlais said: "This is the last bank branch in Whitchurch. We are concerned about how this closure will impact all if its customers, especially those who are more vulnerable and unable to travel to another branch, as well as the many local businesses who rely on this branch.
"We have written to Lloyds senior management to ask for an urgent meeting. If you will be affected by this closure, please let us know in the comments below, or email julie.morgan@senedd.wales."
