An ecumenical Christmas memorial service will be held at the Wenallt Chapel at Thornhill Crematorium, Rhiwbina on Sunday (8 December) at 2pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects to their loved ones during this Christmas period.
The 45-minute service, conducted by Rev. Jason Tugwell, will contain readings, poems and carols. Deborah Morgan Lewis will lead the singing.
Cardiff Council cabinet member with responsibility for Bereavement Services, Norma Mackie, said: "Christmas can be a difficult time for those who have lost somebody close. People of all faiths are welcome to come together at this annual service, to remember those who have sadly passed."
Every year Cardiff's Bereavement Services team support a different charity and this year a collection in aid of Calon Hearts will take place during the service.
At least 12 seemingly healthy young people die every week in the UK from heart conditions they didn't even know they had. Calon Hearts' mission is to reduce this number, so that no family loses a loved one to a heart condition that could have been detected and managed.
Memorial tags which can be placed on one of the Christmas Memorial trees in the Wenallt Chapel Courtyard are being sold in support of the charity, for a minimum donation of £2, in memory of a loved one.
The trees will remain in place until Twelfth Night, Sunday 5 January.
A live webstream of the service will be available for anybody unable to attend in person, and a recording of the event will be available online from Tuesday 10 December.
You'll need a password to see it, though. For details, please contact the Bereavement Services Team on 029 2054 4820 or email thornhillreception@cardiff.gov.uk
